Unelma Platforms server received SSL Labs A+ Grading

Most of the server on the Internet are vulnerable to security attacks, and there is no denying the fact that there are many different types of people who are on using the Internet daily.

It is hard to know who are the good guys from the bad guys. So it is handy to secure your server and applications from the security attacks. One aspect is hardening your server with proper SSL certificate. HTTPS adoption is increasing a lot with more than half of the web traffic now is encrypted.

We at Unelma Platforms are open source contributor and collaborators. Some of the things we build are from the community of open source developers that's why we give away most of our applications and services for free.

Recently our security engineers were working hard to get proper grading in the SSL certificate category. If you don't know about SSL Labs, check them out here. Anyone can test SSL server by merely providing the hostname here: https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/  "SSL labs is also an open source with a collection of documents, tools and thoughts related to SSL. It's an attempt to understand better how SSL is deployed, and an attempt to make it better."

Earlier before the test, our server was at grade B, but we improved based on SSL labs feedback and impressive SSL Server Test resulting now in A+ grade.

Of course, as our security engineer tells us that just SSL is not enough. It is because SSL/TLS does not guarantee the application-level security and applications can have many another particular type of attack vectors, e.g. SQL injection and cross-site scripting and whatnot. But we have improved our servers now with SSL grading level A+ and with HSTS. (HTTP Strict Transport Security) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_Strict_Transport_Security
